Cake Mix Recipes

If you are looking for a simple way to make delicious cakes without a lot of fuss, cake mix recipes are the answer. Buying a store bought mix and turning it into a scrumptious dessert is both time saving and economical. Stores will run sales on boxed mixes and they can often be purchased for under a dollar. Here are two sample recipes that are quick to make and tasty too.

Easy Chocolate Cake


1 box chocolate cake mix

1 (16 ounces) package instant chocolate pudding mix

2 eggs

12 ounces chocolate chips

1/2 to 3/4 cups chopped pecans


Mix all ingredients together with a spoon except for the chocolate chips and pecans. Pour mixture into a 9×13 inch greased and floured baking pan. Sprinkle chocolate chips and pecans on top. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. No frosting is needed for this cake.

Strawberry Nut Cake


1 box white cake mix

3 tablespoons flour

1 small package strawberry Jello

1 cup strawberries

1 cup oil

4 eggs

1/2 cup water

1 cup chopped nuts

1/4 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon baking powder


Mix all ingredients together except for the strawberries and nuts. After mixture is well beaten, stir in strawberries and nuts. Pour mixture into a greased and floured 9×13 inch baking pan. Bake at 300 degrees for 1 hour. Powdered sugar icing can be added if desired.
